If organizing a wedding could become quite a stressful activity, we can’t really say the same thing for the invitation phase.
Calling friends and families, visiting them and announcing your forthcoming big day can be really a lot of fun. Especially if you tell them that you will tie the knot in one of the most beautiful and charming places in the world: Italy.

How cool is that? Celebrating a very special day with the most important people in your life in a unique location. But planning an italian wedding is not that easy, even if you’re not the one who’s getting married.
Also the invitees must follow a couple of rules which are not to be taken for granted when starting packing for a wedding abroad.

Are you going abroad to celebrate your best friends wedding? First of all you must bear in mind that in most cases you’ll be facing a long trip.
A wedding abroad is very similar to a brief vacation. This is why it’s very important to take with you quite a good number of outfits, and not only the one chosen for the ceremony.
Wedding destinations are often locations where it’s possible to take little excursions and explore the local areas. So don’t forget to put in your bags a pair of sneakers and some comfortable outfits (jeans, tracksuits, t-shirts, etc.).

Prepare your luggage based on the climate conditions of your wedding destination.
Are you going to the seaside? Then don’t forget a bathing suit and even if it’s just for a couple of days, bring a protective sun lotion with you, especially if you’re travelling with children.
A wedding is a very moving experience, for you and other invitees. This is why it’s crucial to have a good supply of tissues.

The very moment you receive an invitation for a wedding abroad, go check your documents! You can’t travel abroad with an expired document, be it a passport or an ID card. Make sure that also those of your relatives have been properly renewed.

Your friends have decided to get married in the italian countryside, maybe Bergamo or Franciacorta? Then get as many information as possible about your wedding destination. A map of the area, a travel guide.. Remember that the wedding planners hired by your friends are there to work on their wedding and not on your vacation so don’t treat them as your personal touristic info point!
